Art on the Farm: Saturday, May 29th from 10 to 4. Admission: Adults $5, Children Free. Pirate Island Camp: June 22nd, 23rd, 24th from 9-11:30 a.m. (ages 3-5 yrs) Ahoy all Pirate Island Lil’ Buccaneers! Come aboard to create pirate ships, colorful parrots, treasure maps, sea monsters, ship flags, doubloon necklaces, treasure chests and more! Our buccaneers will explore cartooning, origami, sand painting, sculpture, cartography, and much more using their very own Abrakadoodle Pirate Kit. At the end of camp children take home the rest of their art materials for added fun at home. Materials fee includes all materials, props, games, stories and music used in class as well as the take home kit that extends the learning and fun at home. Arrrrgh! Cost: $75 Patchwork of Virginia Music Festival: Saturday, June 12th, noon to 6 pm. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the gate. Children under 12 free. Wild ‘N Wacky Art Camp: July 13th-16th from 9-noon . (8-12 yrs) Get silly! Get goofy! Get creative at Camp Abrakadoodle Wild ‘n Wacky Art! Learn about a variety of artists in this camp while using exciting materials and techniques to create artwork that is either wild (Rousseau, Sendak) or Wacky (Paul Klee, Picasso, Salvador Dali) or both! Transfer your energy into your art with fun art materials. Puppy Social at the Barrier Islands Center: Saturday, July 17th at 9 a.m. Meet under the trees at BIC for puppy socialization, training talk, and fun for you and your puppy with certified dog trainer Beth Ann Sabo. Introduce your pup to new friends, both canine and human. Bring your puppy, your questions, and be ready to laugh! Reservations a must . (ages5-9) Learn about the fragile ecology of the rainforests around the world. Using art activities, we will explore the environment and its endangered species.
